Whole grain crackers with sesame for snack or breakfast

Whole wheat crackers with sesame

Do you like baking cookies this time of year like I do? I really enjoy the most unpleasant days like this, those in which I very little feel like leaving the house. Because in addition to making good use of the cookies, the house becomes warm and filled with aromas. For that reason alone I encourage you to try these whole wheat cookies with sesame.

These cookies are a perfect basic to complete breakfasts and snacks. They have a crisp exterior that I personally love and that invites ribbed patterns like the one I drew. If you don't have anything to do it with, you can do something similar with a fork or simply forget about it!

They are very easy to make, even for someone who has never made cookies before. Now, it requires first making the dough and then baking it, so don't expect them to be ready in 10 minutes. It won't take you much longer either, possibly around 30 minutes. Try them!

Ingredients
  • 175g whole wheat flour
  • 110 g. butter at room temperature.
  • 75 g. brown sugar
  • 20 g. of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of cinnamon.
Preparation
  1. In a bowl we mix the whole wheat flour, brown sugar, crushed sesame seeds, salt and cinnamon.
  2. Then we add the butter cubes and honey and mix first with a spoon and finally with your hands until it forms a ball.
  3. We wrap the ball in plastic wrap and we take to the fridge one hour.
  4. After time, we take it out of the refrigerator and we preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  5. We stretch the dough between two baking papers and shape the cookies with a mold or cookie cutter, placing them on the baking tray lined with paper as we make them.
  6. We take to the oven and cook for 12 minutes or until golden.
  7. Then, we take it out of the oven and we let it cool on the tray for 15 minutes before transferring them to a rack.
  8. We enjoy them at snack or breakfast with a coffee or a glass of milk.
