Chickpea stir fry

Hello girls! Today I bring you a very healthy way to eat some good sauteed chickpeas. We always relate the word chickpea to stew as it makes you fat. Well, get that idea out of your head, because there are many healthy recipes with chickpeas: chickpea salads, chickpeas sautéed with vegetables, soups, purees, etc.

El chickpea, being a legume we have to incorporate it into our diet. But it does not fatten the food itself, but what we put on it. This legume provides us with fiber, protein and nutrients and only a minimum percentage of fat. Therefore, it is recommended in diets good for constipation and also in healthy diets for the heart.

Ingredients

For two people:

  • 500 g of chickpeas.
  • 1 large red bell pepper.
  • 1 large green bell pepper.
  • 1 medium onion.
  • 5 garlic cloves.
  • A few slices of stale bread.
  • 1 tablespoon of sweet pepper.
  • Pepper.
  • Thyme.
  • Olive oil.
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tablet of avecrem of vegetables.
  • A drizzle of fried tomato.

Preparation

Before starting to prepare the recipe for these sauteed chickpeas, we will soak the chickpeas the night before, so that it facilitates the cooking process and does not remain hard. After that night, we will remove the chickpeas that are floating or have bad appearance. Next, we will introduce them in a pressure cooker covered with water, and we will take it to the fire for 45 min-1h.

At the same time that the chickpeas are cooking, we are making the stir fried. To do this, we must cut the onion, peppers and 2 cloves of garlic into very small squares. Put them in a pan with a good background of olive oil, and fry it until we see that everything is well done. When this happens, we add the chickpeas.

On the other hand, in another pan, fry the 3 remaining garlic cloves and the diced stale bread. When they are golden, we add it to a mixing glass or a mortar. Then, to that same oil we add the tablespoon of sweet paprika and sauté it for a few minutes (you have to be very careful with this step, since the paprika can burn), and then also add it to the mixing glass or mortar, and we do a kind of nice, which, we add to the frying pan with the chickpeas.

Now that we have all the ingredients together, we add the spices: salt, thyme, pepper and half a pill of avecrem. We also add a little of the chickpea broth and a good jet of fried tomato. We would let it cook for about 15 min and that's it! I hope you enjoy them.
